AEW 2026 Reviews

How’s it going AEW Fans (and Wrestling Fans Alike).

As I continue writing reviews for AEW, Ring of Honor, and other events as I see fit, I hope that this does alot more for life (inlcuding media credentials, prosperity to travel more and be apart of the AEW fam, etc).

I’m going to do a 2026 refresh, and structure my reviews a little bit differently this year. I heard feedback from AEW writers (and writers from competiting companies as well), and I will take the criticism and use it to make my reviews more brief and to the point. I will try to stick to reviews and personally avoid ranking matches in AEW (because it is my home company)

I’m going to stick to a schedule of releasing my AEW Dynamite reviews on Saturdays (in order to refresh my memory before Collision), and then release my Collision reviews on Sunday.

Here we go!

AEW Dynamite 1/7/26 Review (Releasing 1/8/26)

Jon Moxley vs Shelton Benjamin Review

I don’t think that I’m the only one in the AEW fan base that bleives this to be the best versions of Jon Moxley and Shelton Benjamin that we have ever seen.

This match featured alot of power moves between the two wrestlers, with Jon Moxley at one having to fight through a barrage of German Suplexes from Shelton. Jon Moxley, the curent AEW Continental Champion, ois no slouch tho. As with alot of Jon Moxley’s opponents recently, things don’t look so good from the begining, but the champion battles back as the match goes on (this might also be a testament to how great his opponents are).

The fact that this match started the show (which could have easily main evented this first episode of AEw Dynamite in 2026) shows how much AEW trusts its lengends to continue to put on fantastic matches. Honestly, whenever I see Jon Moxley start the show (or any of the Deathriders for that part), I know that we are in for a great show.

I don’t make it habit of ranking matches, but it was solid from start to finish.
